My sweetheart rarely gets holidays off, so for Labor day we just planned a little family fun for after he got off work. Initially we were planning to go to the park and cook out, but a little issue came up, and we were prevented from doing that. (Long story short, I was baking pumpkin bread right before we were going to leave, and it took 2 hours to bake instead of 45 minutes. ...and still ended up gooey. Somewhere in the baking process, the bread fell, so it was pretty much a hopeless cause.)
When things don't go as planned, make new plans!
We went to the park anyways, and took along our ice cream cones.
Peanut isn't typically allowed to have ice cream, (for a number of reasons) but
this time we let him have a baby bite or two.
The park was unusually populated, so we only stayed long enough to eat our ice cream and play on the slides for a little while. The slide picture will have to be omitted. :/ If you must know, I'm getting too old for slides! ...and an 'old' momma skidding crazily down a slide with a baby is not a cool picture. Especially when that mommy bit her tongue just seconds before the picture was taken. Yeah, not a great picture.
